Default 'Baby Shaker' app

I had a bit of a WTF moment when I read about this app...

Apple approves 'Baby Shaker' for App Store - Mobile Applications

Totally retarded move by Apple. How does this slip through the testing phase? It's even worse when there's legit apps being held back for no good reason.

The App Store approval process needs a major overhaul.

Indeed... I mean if they wanted to get it right, it'd be a blue skeleton with a baseball cap kicking a baby senselessly, in the head.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I saw a similar game on some flash animation/games site the other week. Just as bad taste.

I was expecting the app to be a rattle for a baby when I read the title and though it just had an unfortunate name that could be taken badly.. Nope.

It's bullshit that this gets through their approval process.

Just further proof that Victor Wang (or whatever his name is) is mentally unstable.
Didn't they reject the fart app's for being tasteless?

WTF were they thinking? WTF was the developer thinking???
You'd need to be truly sick to come up with this shit.

How could Apple even want to associate themselves with this? could you imagine the TV ad. "Feel like shaking a crying baby till it dies, There's and app for that"...

Seriously WTF...

Hard to believe someone would seriously develop this disgusting concept. Harder to believe it was ever approved.

Yeah, because every app available through iTunes is representative of Apple's values.

It's a dumb mistake by whatever individual approved the app, and it will probably be taken down very soon, if it hasn't already. Don't go lighting your torches just yet.

It's been pulled now apparently:
Apple pulls 'Baby Shaker' iPhone app after child welfare groups protest

I can't believe it got through in the first place though.

It shames me to think that some weirdo would even develop that!

Wrong and wrong- what could possibly motivate someone to make this? Sikalosoft will never get a cent/download from me whatever else they make. Going to chack all my apps to see if I have any already...

That's something, although like you I can't believe Apple let this app through either.

This App is frigging deplorable. Worse still that it made the front page of various tech and mainstream news pages overnight and today.

Can I suggest that this thread be closed and/or deleted? News or otherwise, this trash shouldn't be acknowledged.

I respectfully disagree.

If people don't stand up to say that this sort of trash isn't ok then it will never be stopped.

Edmund Burke said it best I think -: All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

lol so typical of Apple. They let this slip through yet refuse approval of apps that might threaten their own apps i.e. Peeps for rolling their own implementation of Cover Flow.

I find the concept of this app pretty bloody tasteless.
To make an app like this is at best infantile.
That Apple would allow it is thoughtless and a BAD blunder from a business POV.
To villify somebody for making the app, without knowing what they intended, or who they really are is a witch hunt.

It was probably ill considered youthful exuberance gone too far rather than the work of any real sicko.

Who here hasn't told a baby joke? They're sick, tasteless and stupid, but sick humour is one way people cope with the ugly concepts they lampoon. That this became an app, and was approved is a joke gone too far, but keep it in perspective.
