it does it by default, eg if you get a pdf via email you can just tap it to view, or same with a link from a website. couldn't be easier, even does office documents, but they aren't editable.

For some text based PDFs you can use Stanza, which is free on the app store. It's quite simple, but you need to use a computer to load the files from. It's a great program. For image based PDFs I use Datacase ($8.99 I think) from the app store. I use this to read pdf readings for uni. Works as a network drive through wireless connection. I use my MBP to send files across. It's a little cumbersome but OK for short docs (under 50 pages).

Another vote for Datacase. Fantastic application, I find myself using it every day.
