Default Turret Wars MP Released !

Sector3 have released Turret Wars MP, our first multi-player, peer to peer network game for OSX based on our original Turret Wars game.

So, whats so cool about Turret Wars MP (Currently at version 1.0.5)?
  • Play against up to 9 other networked or computer controller players.
  • Host your own games or join someone else’s
  • Fully enhanced graphics and interfaces.
  • Choose from NINE exciting battle environments
  • Choose from FOUR turret types with differing abilities.
  • Choose from FOUR difficulty levels plus a practice mode option
  • Password protect your game so only your friends can join or allow anyone from around the world to join your game and battle it out.

Yes, you can blow up the palm trees

There is a demo available that is limited to one environment, one turret type, up to 9 CPU enemies and up to 1 human enemy.

Oh, and we are 4th on Apples website of their most popular downloads, beaten only by Apple's own software (top left) :-)

Nice work on being the number four download from Apple. If it's not too personal, what does that equate to in numbers?

Thanks... we have had about 45,000 downloads of the demo from Apples website in a 11 days. Our biggest day was just under 7,000! It is really such a thrill to see your app not only on Apples website, but to see it's so popular.

I think Apple offer an amazing platform for their developers to showcase their apps... The PC world is way way behind in a comprehensive, un-biased showcase platform. Hat's off to Apple!

Well, speaking as a buyer, I can only say a few things.

1. We need more players online. PLEASE. I'd even play some of the Sector3 crew. Would be a nice test of how much lag affects it.
2. Tournament. Yes, I said it.

Judging by the download options, it looks like it is both Mac OS X and Windows.

Is there an upgrade pricing from Turret Wars to TWM?
Cheers

Yeah, I saw upgrade pricing there. It was $9.95 off if you had a single license, I believe.

EDIT - Seon, bit of trouble getting it to download, mentions a file error. I'll try again in the morning, but it could just be me.

Yes, All Turret Wars Retro owners can get TW MP for just the different in price and still retain their TW Retro license. You can even cross-grade from a Single Retro to a Family MP just for the difference.

Tournament? Yep.. we hear you ;-)

Hmm.. the download links are correct (just checked them again)... I know we got hammered with downloads last night so maybe it was just a connection error

In regards to the number of network games available to play in.. one of the features of TW MP, but also a problem is that you can play local Lan games only if you like, that reduces the number of "live" games to join.

We are working on solutions to this for future updates.. i cant say more yet, but its pretty awesome what we have come up with... and of course, all 1.x updates are free :-)
