Hi
I just bought an airport card and installed it in my g3 ibook. Tiger has detected it no probs. I'm trying to connect to my Billion wireless ADSL modem/router...I've set a SSID on the modem and the Airport can see that network but I can't connect to it. I've played around with/without WEP/WPA and I either get:
"this network requires a password"
or
"this network restricts access due to access control list and your computer is no allowed"

Any ideas?

On my router I found you could go in and set the network addresses it would accept. That was to keep out other wireless computers from piggybacking on my network. Maybe all you have to do is go in and put your computer's address in?

I looked through all the menu items in my Billion 7100pro but could not find any such lists.

I've just got it going by turning WPA off and I'm now using just WEP! But it had to be WEP 'hex' not just plain WEP

WEP is either ascii or hex(adecimal). You have no other choices (besides 64 or 128bit). Plain WEP is a misnomer, it is more thank likely to be ascii.

so it's working now?

I have 3 WEP choices:

1. WEP Password
2. WEP 40/128-bit hex
3. WEP 40/128-bit ASCII

I used the first one...that's not 'plain'?
