Hi, I have an Intel 845PE board and a 4x AGP slot. If I want to upgrade the graphic card to a ATI 9800Pro or something, will it be compatible with the AGP 8x of the graphic card?

In a word - yes.

AGP is backwards compatible with the exception of early 1x & some 2x boards due to voltage variance.
