Thumbs up

Hello everyone, I am just about to buy a new 15" Powerbook.

I currently have a Belkin Wireless Router providing a WLAN for my house. When I get my Powerbook, I will buy an AirPort so that I can use the wireless printing and speakers function of it. Will I still be able to use the WLAN from the Belkin at the same time? Or would I have to use the AirPort as an accesspoint? (but then could i still use the printing/speakers stuff?) :huh:

Thank for your help.

Yes, you could have 600 wireless networks in the same area!

There is no limet for wireless networks in the same area.

E.g. in the US, everywhere you go theres wireless, you really could get out of your house on your PowerBook, and stay connected all the way to work.

Back on topic - Yes

EDIT - You can not be connected to 2 Wireless networks at one time

If you hook the Airport Express up to the Belkin using ethernet you'll have no issue. It would work like this:

PowerBook <- - - - wireless - - - -> Belkin <---- CAT5 -----> Airport Express ----> usb printer

If the Belkin is running a DHCP server, the Airport Express should be able to obtain an IP from it and the printer would appear as a Bonjour device.

I love that idea, but the Belkin is situated near the Cable Boradband modem....so the internet is routed wirelessly to my room. I would have the AirPort Express in my room hooked up to my printer and speakers...and I can't run LAN cables through my walls either...

so does this sound like it's impossible to do?

OR can you use the AirPort as a wireless bridge?
