hey

i was wondering if anyone knew weather it was possible to use CCC to backup and clone hard drives over a wireless network. i have done some research into this topic but all i have found was that u cant restore it over the wireless network.

Doing backup over wireless is a bad idea no matter which way you look at it. Carbon Copy Cloner and Super Duper and Time Machine work best with a locally attached hard drive. Whilst Apple's Time Capsule can do TM over wifi, there are plenty of threads here where people have tried it and its performance has been abyssmal -- it's fine once you've got the main first backup done and you're doing incrementals via wifi though.

Stick to using cables.

so all ill have to do is install CCC or SD on the server and then do the clone over the physical network once so that i have a copy of the hard drive on the server, then set it to incremental back ups every so often and it should work. the reason for this is that all the macs in the office are wireless as there are no cables to connect them all to the server.

and

is it possible for CCC to do clones of several computers and keep there images on the server and lets say once a day back up all the computers to there individual images? so for example you had 7 macs you would have 7 different images all being backed once a day ?
