emac/airport/voip

Hi - what do you think might be a solution. I have an emac (700hrtz), no airport card, a Dlink DSL302g modem. I have a 1500mbps internet connection (ADSL). I have done a lot of research on Voip which I am switching to. Even picked out a Billion 7404 all in one modem/router/ata. But suddenly...
I realise I don't have a wireless connection. OK stay calm - discover the original airport card $79 plus shipping. Read up and hear that it doesn't work so well with voip connection...Could this be true? Will a usb adaptor work better ($25)?
Anybody had experience with this? I am coaxing my emac to stay with me as long as possible - is in tip top shape.
Maybe I should get a cheapie ata because it might not work so well. Maybe I should get an ethernet hub (only one ethernet port on my modem) and a non wireless ata/router.
Any thoughts?
cheers
PS - In a hurry as I am on a very expensive phone plan.

so are you doing the VoIP through the eMac or are you plugging your old phone straight into the Billion box? If you are connecting your phone to the Billion's ATA then I don't think there would be a problem using the eMac on wireless if you can find a USB dongle that works with OSX. You will probably be limited to USB 1 speeds though if you take that route (12mbps) How far away from the router is the eMac? Could you do run an ethernet cable between the two instead?

solved

I just found out that the billion can run with cables as well as wireless so there won't be any need to go wireless - when I eventually upgrade I will then be ready for wireless if I want to use it. - What a relief!
