Seagate 750GB Freeagent External Hard Disk

Anybody know if these are any good?

Dailydeals have a special for $139 (with $10.95 delivery)

Seems ok but I'm not sure how they are and how they are with macs etc.

These things just get cheaper and cheaper and it's hard to keep up with real bargains..

It's not on the website I don't think, but that's how much they are. I've seen them advertised.

I just got a 1TB Freeagent from Officeworks, they were $169. I'd been umming and aahing about getting one of the Western Digital ones but $30 saving is fine by me. It's not as nice looking as the western digital but I don't plan on having it sitting out on show! formatted it into a GUID with 400gb for my macbook (which will be plenty) and the rest as backup for my windows HTPC.

The Freeagents are very nice-i have the 750GB model. NTFS-so you'd have to reformat it for Mac use.

Supplied on-drive software is Windows-only.

That's weird, the 1TB I bought this arvo came with both Windows and Mac backup software. I'll use the windows backup software for my HTPC, but for my Macbook I'm just using Time Machine.

Is your 1TB a newer Freeagent model (silver colored)?
