Gday, i recently spent 3 hrs on the phone to apple h/desk, to help configure my airport exp-everything ok as i have recently purchased an imac g5, however the problem seems to be with my compaq & where the airport is plugged into the wall & modem .Apple advised me to call my isp-bigpond -& not to mention wirless network . Should i contact microsoft or just pay a capable technition to fix it??
Any suggestions ??

if you can give us more idea of the problem. We maybe able to help you fix it. I guess that you are having problems access the internet from the PC?

yep. with a little more info we might be able to help you.

Are you using DHCP or assigned IPs? Cable or adsl? What speed is the compaq's wireless card (802.11b or 802.11g or one of those dodgy psudo standards in between)? Is it connecting to the router? can you ping the router? what about pinging your imac? What about pinging the modem?

Don't bother calling bigond, they're useless and if you tell them that you're using a router they'll hang up on you.

Can you please explain what you mean here?

Thanks Joel , i checked the pinging with Apple h/desk-seems to be working on the imac-have to go to work & will post update on saturday.
