I have a Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard currentlly hooked up to a desktop PC (windows) and I'm looking at getting a Mac Mini, I woundering do I have to buy Apples Bluetooth Module or can I use the one which came with the actual Keyboard. As far as I'm aware Logitech has know Mac drivers? A little Help?

Is it an external USB Bluetooth adapter? If so, it should be right (but reduces the number of USB ports you have available).

If its an internal adapter, then you're in trouble

External, right?

Chances are you won't need a driver - welcome to OS X!

In the unsual case that you do, I'm sure Logitech will have one available. Check on their website, but I'm currently using a generic USB Bluetooth adapter that I only need to plug in and set up in System Preferences - no driver required.

Ok, Thanks OziMac, I just read on another fourum Logitech don't support OS X on this perticular keyboard. Looks like I'm getting a Mini! Do you think the 799 mini is fast enough? If in the unlikely case it doesn't work I also have a belkin USB bluetooth dongle, will that work, belkin don't support mac at all.

On the contrary, Belkin are one of the prime accessory makers for Macs and iPods. I'm sure if my crappy cheapo USB Bluetooth dongle works then the Belkin one should also work.

I'm surprised and disappointed your particular keyboard won't work. I would have suggested that the best way to find this out would be to try it out with a Mac.

As for the speed of the Mini - there's fast and there's fast. I had an eMac for a long time that did everything I needed perfectly at 1GHz with 512MB of RAM, including a lot of video rendering and DVD burning. G5s are obviously faster and better at all of this, but the current G4 line up is perfectly respectable in their own right.

The moral of the story is, a little bit of extra RAM won't hurt but if you don't want to wait forever either buy a stock Mini, which is adequate on its own - or upgradeable with a little bit of initiative.

I know that Logitech's bluetooth mouse does indeed work, but not with Logitech's own bluetooth receiver - you need either a Mac compatible bluetooth dongle, or the Apple Bluetooth module.

No idea about the keyboard. I'd assume it's the same.

Are you sure? Is the Belkin bluetooth dongle work, they don't actually have mac drivers, though will it still work?

Some one here must know.

I have a Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse Set. I installed them with OS X, they worked perfectly for the first three or so restarts. Then, I restarted the Bluetooth Mouse, worked perfectly but the keyboard was disconected. I then poped up with a wizard, asking to connect a keyboard, I all worked, but its a pain having to do the wizard every time you want to restart!

only the normal buttons will work none of the extra features, im 100% on this i have spent months researching and testing this... the only ones that work with mac are the logitech keyboards with a apple button on them.. if not they dont work (well only the normal buttons)

I think you must have interreted the question wrong

I ment the keyboard disconnects on restart be doesn't reconnect, be the mouse automatically reconnects.

Are the batteries running out?
