Apple TV and older TV

I was just wondering whether Apple TV would be able to be plugged into an older TV (JVC circa 2002-2003) with red white yellow RCAs or S-Video at the back?

I wouldnt be getting those new LCD/plasmas with hdmi anytime soon so just wondering if anyone could help.

thanks!

It's possible with a component to Svideo adapter, however these are usually powered and cost $100+. If your TV is 4:3 ratio it'll work but I'd not bother if you need to go through all of this.

See here for information on the adapter:

... you might be happier in the interim with a second hand Mac Mini?

It will look disgusting, but yes, the poster above's suggestion would work.

I have the Apple TV converter listed in the link above and it does work nice with my old TV. But I did end up buying a flat screen and now the family is really enjoying Apple TV unit.

I got my AppleTV just before June 30th. I got it home and plugged it in to my 4x3 CRT screen and had no luck. I enquired about the converter above and it was going to cost around $200. As my TV was 15 years old, I just bit the bullet and went and bought a 42" LCD screen and have never been happier. I didn't want to spend good money after bad.
