Miglia TVBook Pro Express or Elgato EyeTV DTT?

Hi there, Newbie here

I was wondering if there are any Miglia TVBook Pro Express users out there? I can't seem to find any reviews or comments from users of the TVBook Pro Express. Does anyone have any opinions on the Miglia TVBook Pro Express vs. the Elgato EyeTV DTT tuners?

Cheers!

IMO, software on the Elgato wins hands-down.

I haven't used the TVBook Pro Express, but I'm assuming it uses the same software as the the TVMini, and that software sucks - their activation stuff is just horrible, whilst with the Elgato stuff, it just works...

Get the Elgato, You won't regret it.

I actually noticed today that we have one or two Miglia units that have been returned due to activation difficulties. Apparently the activation codes provided are wrong. I don't know why that is.

I would totally recommend the EyeTV. The software is excellent and very easy to use.

Elgato TV tuners are expensive, but the EyeTV software is the best - no doubt about it - and it fully supports all the Miglia devices too.

EDIT: just checked, the Miglia TVBook Pro is expensive too!

There was a time when the activation servers were simply down - and no indication of when they were going back up, either. This has now presumably been fixed, though.

Early in the Miglia's software, there was no support for AC3 audio that the aussie HD channels were broadcasting with - again, this has now been fixed with the latest version of the software as well.

Wow, thanks for your quick replies! Seems like there's a lot of praise for EyeTV. Just out of interest, can you get the EyeTV software separately? I'll probably go with the Elgato, though, especially as the software comes with the device.

Thanks again for your replies!

Don't think so, but check the Elgato website for confirmation.

You can, but the price isn't cheap... making it smarter to just usually grab an Elgato tuner.

Also, you might want to check out the new DTT Deluxe tuner. Not really any advantage over the DTT, just smaller and better looking.
