MacTalk Dell 24" LCD Bulk Buy - Interest Thread

UPDATE 31st July: Lack of numbers means this deal won't be going ahead, sorry guys. if you can show me 200 interested people we can get them for $600 easy, but I don't think we're every going to get that.

===========

I've got a good contact at Dell that can do us a pretty good price on the 24" 2408WFP LCD - list is $799, but chances are we can get it for $649 inc delivery and probably lower if we can get more numbers.

We are looking at a time-frame of about 3 weeks before taking payment, when we will have 1 week to take payment and then pass it on to Dell, who will then deliver the LCDs to me and then I will ship them to you or you can pick them up from me.

Are you interested? - if so, please let me know in this thread. If we can get 200 monitors, the price will be sub $580

If you have friends that want to buy them, PLEASE let them know. They don't have to sign up to be part of the bulk buy. If you can post here on their behalf to let me know that you'll be buying more than 1, that would be great.

To answer questions:
  • Ability to upgrade warranty - yes - call Dell, tell them you want the 5 year warranty and they'll sort it out with you and you pay the extra money.
  • Shipping is free Australia wide or can be picked up from me in St. Albans for a small discount + less waiting.
  • Deal does not include those extras currently on the Dell website - it is only for the monitor + cables. We get the LCD cheaper without them.
  • The price is only valid for the 24" 2408WFP LCD (the good LCD).

I'm interested. Would depend on the final price, however.

Edit: Out of curiosity, how much could you get the crappy $499 24" down by?

this is jonnos btw im just at my gf's place on her mbp.. we would be interested if not just myself (jonnos).
would it still be free shipping to sydney?
would these come with the freebies it currently comes with now?

Free Kingston 4GB DataTraveler 100 USB Flash Drive + Sennheiser Professional Headset + Shintaro 7" Digital Photo Frame - ONLINE this only for non business though so i guess not right?

also would we be able to upgrade the warranty after we have purchased or would we need to sort that out before you order the LCDs? im interested in upgrading it to 5 years warranty.

*CONFIRMED* +2 here very likely.

Definately interested for one

Will be hard to get 200 people though to get the awesome price - have we thought about extending this to other sites?

Yep! It is open to other sites, totally. However they aren't too keen on me going on their forums and pimping it (hint).

Awful for photography since the colours arn't right and even bad for movies in my experience since the viewing angles arn't great

Nice work decryption.

But my hope for updated Cinematic Displays still lingers. Hence continue to wait I shall. Cupertino bastards...
