TV Tuners

Hi guys,

just brought my 1st Macbook Pro and am now looking at TV Tuners.
whats the difference between:

Elgato (i think thats how its spelt)

&

Pinnacle (looking at the Hybrid model)

are these as good as the Mac TV - they are cheaper.

Thanks,

Basically the Hybrid can accept the old analogue signal or the software acts as a digital decoder box and accepts the digital signal.

Personally I went for the diversity because it has a dual tuner that lets you then watch one channel and record another, or have live picture in picture.

I have been using the Elgato Hybrid for 19 months now and absolutely love it. Easy to use - and has turned my MacBookPro into a default DVD Recorder!

The best thing about the Hybrid is that you can connect your old VHS machine to it and convert your old VHS tapes to digital.

Still working through the old family VHS and High8 tapes....

ok - looks like the Hybrid version is the go.

like the idea of using my Mac as a DVD Recorder.

what is the difference between the Elgato and Pinnacle Hybrids?
