CHDK and Mac OS X

I just got myself a Canon IXUS 70 of which I am absolutely impressed with. By far the best P+S camera I have ever owned...

I have been trying to find a way to get the CHDK firmware to run on the camera but have found that the camera doesn't mount itself on the desktop as a removable drive.

When connected, image capture starts and the system profiler can see it - but there is now way to load the file on the camera's SD card.

One thought is that I can buy a card reader and do it that way, but I will never use it again and seems a waste of money. Has anyone worked out a way to address this issue?

ps. Im running Tiger 10.4.11

In the camera's settings, change the connection from "Point to point" to "USB Mass Storage" and it'll then mount on the desktop as a hard drive.

I'll try this as soon as I get home.
If this is true and it works, I will make virtual love to you.

Will let you know...

Can I just say that I love MacTalk!

I saw this thread and thought, "What the hell is CHDK???"

Quick Google and... "Are you serious? I can download software to my powershot to improve its' performance and especially increase exposure on a P&S camera???"

As someone who loves technology but was a very late adopter of so many things (I didn't get my first digi camera until the end of '06), this forum is invaluable and the reason I visit every day.
