Hi!
I managed to score myself
this old designjet printer which actually DOES work - with some persuasion. It's missing the front feeder tray so you have to feed paper into the back manual tray, which is OK, and it takes some fiddling to get it to print (I worked out that you send the job with no paper, then wait till it asks for paper, then put the paper in and press the 'resume' button).
I printed one A3 photo on default settings... it was really shit paper (just a layout pad A3, I used the 'thin paper' setting) but there are a few things wrong - it looks like it has green wash and judging by some darker areas, like the magenta head or something might be blocked up. I can take a photo if that will explain!
The actual fidelity/detail of it is great - especially since the image is scaled up - just the colours are way off. Luckily, there is no 'banding' or lines, though I guess that could mean the print head is clogged up quite badly then.
1) I can't use the HP page test printing utility because it sends the job to the printer itself and I can't control which tray it uses - therefore it doesn't work. Any ideas? Is there a PDF that I could download and print instead (can't find one if there is).
2) Does anyone have.. or know someone who has.. or know where I could get.. a front feeding tray for a designjet 10ps?
Thanks!
Jeremy
