DVI vs VGA connections

Hi all,

Can anyone explain the difference between a DVI connection between a monitor and a computer compared to a VGA? I don't know much about these things but I am assuming that the DVI is better quality?

I just got a new 22" LG screen which has both connections - have used my pre-existing VGA converter connection but was wondering if it is worth getting the mini DVI to DVI....

Any ideas/thoughts?

DVI is digital.

VGA is analogue.

It's definitely worth upgrading to DVI, go digital all the way.

DVI will be less hassle - no need to calibrate the screen. However, VGA will carry resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 quite well.
