Unhappy Vodafone Data Card - Makes Macbook Pro screen dim

Hi all,
Just Acquired and connected successfully to Vodafone Broadband using the Express Card Data card. After installing the somewhat limited software and connecting to the internet successfully browsing / email working OK.
The screen went into the dim state (more dim than usual) you can still just see the deskop/dialogs etc but very dim.
I thought this may be a once off, for 1 day it was functioning OK.
Now every time I connect, the screen goes into this dimmed state, I need to restart with the power button.
It looks like there is a bug or a problem with the drivers or faulty card.
I rang Vodafone technical support, and they told me to go to a Vodafone shop and get another card to test with, however everyone is out of stock .....
I was wondering if anyone has experienced this type of problem, and what diagnostics I can carry out ( I am new to MAC OSX)

Thanks in advance

Even though i doubt it is a power issue (surely the cards can't draw that much energy), have you tried having the MBP plugged into the AC adaptor and also using the card?

Couldn't be a power problem, as I am currently running a Bigpond Broadband Express Card and that works fine.
I tried a colleagues card in my MBP and done the same thing, he tried my card and it worked in his Windows machine no problems.
The only thing I haven't tried is to remove any existence of the Bigpond Card drivers ?

I have a MacBook Pro and have the Vodafone Express Card. Haven't used it that much but i have yet to have any problems with it. I downloaded the drivers from the Vodafone web site when I signed up at the start of this month.
So it would seem you either have a dodgy card or corrupted driver. I got my card from a Vodafone store in the local shopping centre (Broadmeadows) but i know they are hard to get.
