Airport bridging to another wifi network

Hey guys,
i have a slightly different type of Airport question.

we have an existing wireless network that is emitted from downstairs where the router and a few wired computers are.

i just bought an airport and want to (obviously) hook it up to the stereo. only problem is is that its nowhere near a computer and obviously cant be shared onto the network.

so i have resorted to this: i had a spare dlink AP and i have that setup as a client on the wireless network. i then have that connected to the airport via ethernet. and the airport is running a second network that im using for pretty much all of the wireless computers (ive switched the first network to hidden so the computers dont connect to it and bumped up the airport network in priority)

so basically, the first network is now only a wireless link between upstairs and downstairs.... and the airport is the primary network.

so the situation.....

ALL computers everywhere have internet

the upstairs computers (macbook and wireless PCs) can all talk to eachother through network shares....

the downstairs computers can talk to eachother (2 wired PCs)

but how do i get the two SETS of networks talking to eachother?

i can ping the router (macbook <+> airport <-> dlink client <+> dlink AP <-> router)

<-> is ethernet
<+> is wireless

any help would be great. i guess i just need to know how to get it talking between the 192.168.*.* network from downstairs
and the 10.0.*.* network from the airport... (airport keeps coming back with conflicting DHCP ranges)

If the dlink you have provides range to the whole house, why not just use the Dlink as you WAP and set the AP to join that network; this will allow you to stream music to the AP but not have it act as a base station and hence have two wireless hops.

i forgot why i ddint want to do that. after switching it back as a client, i then remembered. airtunes skips a LOT when its a client. because its going down to the AP then back to the airport.

... we have a 2 storey concrete house.....

for internet, thats fine. but when streaming music, not even the 5 second buffer is good enough (it keeps playing for about 5 seconds after turning the computers airport off)

so i just spent the last hour getting it to work with internet again as a bridge.

so basically. i cant connect to the computers downstairs. it gets to the router (ie the web config and pin works) but wont then connect to the computers (wired through the 4-port router
