Buy Apple TV from USA Apple Store?

I have noticed that the Apple TV has a universal power supply. Does this mean if I purchase an Apple TV in the USA it will work here in Australia? The price difference between Australia and USA is significant.

I know the USA plug will be different but it is easy enough to get an adaptor.

The USA apple store won't ship to you. Best to use something like PriceUSA - Price USA | Shop where you want and save big bucks.

In regards to power - yep! Sure will work here as it's multi-voltage. You just need to replace the IEC cable (kettle cord) with an Australian one ($2 down at Jaycar).

I am traveling to the US next week and plan to buy it from an Apple Store in St Louis.

Thanks for the information about the power supply.

I got mine using Price USA. Carolina is very helpful and friendly, and I've got the Apple TV up and running flawlessly. I ordered it with Applecare, (which is global in coverage), but in the US you don't get a box, it's just electronically attached to the product at purchase time.

Only thing is you should expect a wait. I think I got mine about 3 weeks after purchase.

[edit: sorry I only just realised that it was the OP who said he was going to the US... Anyway, info above is handy for anyone else I guess!]

Or by refurb from the AU apple store. I grabbed the 40GB for AUD$270 a few weeks back.

It doesn't use a kettle cord, it's a shaver cord (2-pin figure 8).

You'll probably already have one in the house somewhere.

on this basis of just spending $5 for a new cable, timecapsules would be the same, correct?
