How is it hooked up to your modem?

What Mac do you have?

Does your MBP say in Network Utility > Network Interface EN1 that the model is Wireless Network Adapter (802.11 a/b/g/n)?

And have you set the AEBS to N only?

have you disabled wifi on the original router?

are you connecting any other wireless devices?

does your MBP have wireless n?

have you setup the airport extreme to do wireless n properly?

cheers

You can't use N and B or G at the same time.

It's B/G or N - in a mixed network you have to allow for the slower speed.
