Does the 3Mobile USB Modem work on leopard

Hi All,

I am running Leopard and want to purchase a USB mobile modem from three. Will this work? Has anyone had any problems with it. Would I be better off getting the Card instead?

Thanks

Personally if you've got a Macbook Pro and you can get an Express Card modem (that works with OS X, I believe it does) I'd rather that. Doesn't dangle off your machine like a giant wang and doesn't use up a valuable USB port.

My preference anyway

Yeah, it's pretty easy once you know how.

Install the driver off the Huawei website:http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/f...=14558&ctype=1

I think you need to run the application Mobile Connect after installing the drivers, to get the computer to recognise the device, this is just a once off.

Then go to the System Preferences, then Network. Now make sure your settings match these:

Then to connect, simply click the little phone icon up on your menu bar

Pretty simple to setup. shame three do not bundle some sort of app like with windows where you can send text messages and stuff. There are a couple of apps you can use to do diagnostics on coverage that can be found here
