question regarding time capsule

Looking to upgrade my storage and G network to N network

Time capsule is the best choice.

Currently I am with Billion 7300G which is a Modem cum Router.

If I brought Time capsule Can i Use my B7300G as Modem and TC as router in order to enjoy N speed.

after 2 months My ISP will provide Naked DSL so I am planning to use VOIP, will TC can be used as VoIP?

Thanks

Yes, as long as you put your Billion into 'bridge mode' and let Time Capsule do all your routing.

No, Time Capsule doesn't have VoIP functionality. You'll need to use compatible hardware for that. Best talk to your ISP.

It looks like it's one or the other - Time capsule won't do both the things you want.

I am planning on doing a similar thing with a netgear 834g and a time capsule connected via ethernet. But i want to continue to use the g wireless for an older imac and a wireless printer. So essentiallyi will have two routers running different networks.
Is there any trick to the setup - eg. do I put the netgear in bridge mode in this situation? Would the ethernet link (10/100) negate the N wireless advantage?

edit: just noticed brains responidng to a similar question in this thread

edit2: I stuffed up and the above link is to a amusing article from 1989 about Paul Keating, but entirely unrelated to this thread. Sorry, I can't find brains' comment ATM.

LOL. I think Paul Keating knows jack about 802.11n. He could sure get down and dirty about pigs though and is not adverse to hanging out with the most corrupt dictator the world has ever seen

Um, check the link

The TC will let you use VOIP phones and such, you just have to configure the ports or whatever required for VOIP, i would use your current ADSL/Cable modem/router and connect it to you TC and then use TC as a NAT

Oops, you know, I copied that link days ago to send to a PJK lovin friend (yeah, I know, eeeewww!). This is what happens when you use macs at home and are stuck with XP at work. You keep mixing up the keyboard commands. And now I can't locate the thread where Brains gave a clear answer to my question. Something about not having the two wireless base stations too close together because of interference (or was it that they would give you more cancer? )

I use Skype for VOIP so I don't need any hardware apart from Microphone and Speakers... is it cheaper when it goes through the modem in a hardware sense?
