Airport Express Setup on New Laptop

Please excuse my ignorance if you feel this question is pretty stupid.

We've got an Airport Express at home for the sole purpose of streaming music from iTunes through our stereo.
I've decided that I'm now going to start taking this device with me when I travel so I'm not locked down to the hotel desk via LAN connection to access the net if they have no wifi (which majority don't at this point in time).

Now for the stupid questions:
1. Do I have to install the Airport Express software on my powerbook (hasn't been installed to date)?
2. What is the set up process using Airport Express in a hotel?
I.e. is it as simple as connecting hotel LAN cable into Airport Express, turning it on, and finding it via powerbook Wifi?
3. How do I secure this so no one else can access this wireless network being created?

1. Install Airport Utility so you can add a password
2. Just plug it in to the LAN port.
3. add a WPA password

Wally's spot on but I just wanted to add that it sounds like you've not configured security on your express yet - I hope your neighbours don't have kids

By the way, the airport express can have different profiles. You configure it using the airport express utility (which is pretty nifty). You could set up one for home with no security (if that's your thing) and have another profile for travelling that has WPA security enabled..

Jeremy,

The airport express is only being used for music and we haven't set it up as an wireless network.

I have a separate wireless router which the ADSL is connected to, which is secured.

One last stupid question, is the Airport Utility on the CD that came with it?

(I'm posting this from work and the Powerbook and CD's are at home).
