LEGO changed my life!
I still have all the lego technics that my 2 brothers and I had as children.
I use it regularly and it probably contributed to my career as a sculptor and designer.
The only downside to LEGO (apart from$$) was how long it took for mindstorms to have mac support but they have fixed that so now I am thinking to add some to my collection.
Pneumatics came along after I was a kid too and after seeing some of the very cool robotics that can be done with the stuff I am saving up for an ebay LEGO spending spree!
At the moment I am making a working LEGO clock using the diagrams on this site -
http://staff.science.uva.nl/~leo/lego/clock.html - very cool!
I must admit though that the amazing Star Wars models may tempt me from the technics for a while.
I saw those pricy little brick USB storage devices at the Australian Centre for Design and they don't seem to be LEGO - they are a little smaller.

Love lego. Still have all my space lego from when I was young and now my 5 year old daughter is playing with it. I have invested in some of the Mars Mission kits. Very cool.

Type 'lego' in youtube and be amazed at all the creativity on the web: mindstorm creations and stop motion short lego films, not to mention a few things I've stumbled upon!

I absolutely love lego. I have boxes and boxes of them. I started collecting them again back in 2001, and ran out of room to store 'em. So I gave up on collecting. I still do play with it and still dream/drool over the big technic kits.

Possibly already mentioned in this thread, but there's a lego R2D2 in the Little Bourke st entrance of Myer Lonsdale Street. Full size and rotating dome, pretty cool
