Setting up an airport express mixed network n & g

I am looking to set up an airport express network consisting of two new aluminium imacs, an emac and a powermac g5. The imacs are 802.11n whereas the other two are 802.11g.
I have heard that having 802.11g computers and 802.11n computers on the same network will slow down everything down to 802.11g speeds.
I read an article in MacWorld that talks about using two Airport Base Stations, one for 802.11g computers and one for 802.11n computers.
The article says that it is more efficient way of running a mixed airport network.
I believe that you use different frequencies for each network.
Has anyone tried this?
Would you need an older Apple Airport Extreme (802.11g) Base Station?
Or could you use two of the new 802.11n Base Stations?
Any ideas or suggestions
TIA

you could use 2 new Extremes and have one running g on a different channel to the n network...

you could use 1 new extreme and one older extreme or express (express being the cheaper option)

The base stations will need some config if both networks are to share an internet connection or to share files... and they will need to bridge via an ethernet connection for optimal results...

edit: personally unless i was running an apple tv or file sharing big files, i would just use a new extreme base station in mixed n+g mode, perfectly fine for small file sharing and shared internet connection...

and if you have a spare express just use it for its airtunes goodness as a g client of the network...

cheers
