Setup for NAS

Hi,

I recently purchased a Vantec NexStar LX NAS from ebay with a 500g hard-drive installed. I am having trouble connecting to it on my Macbook, through a Belkin Wireless Router. I have been able to connect to the IP address through Firefox to access the settings, and then I go FInder --> Go --> Connect to Server --> smb:\\STORAGE-BFA2 and get a connection failed dialog.

Any advice? This is the first time I've tried to do something like this and I have no idea really.

Cheers,
Ben

Try smb://IP address and see what happens.

Um, guessing - would it be cause windows file sharing needs to be turned on?

Also, when I 'connect to server', I use forward slashes, eg :

smb://MY-NAS-DEVICE

Jeremy

EDIT yep just tried and Finder won't connect with backslashes - maybe that's yer problem.
