Network woes

Yo.
I'm trying to create a simple file sharing network between my iBook and PC.
I turned on personal file sharing and windows sharing through system prefs.
I got to the network icon and i can see the directory 'mshome' in that though, there is no signs of the pc.
I got this working a while ago, but since i had to format the ibook for the old man i haven't been able to get it again.
What do you think?

edit:
I have a sharing folder set up on the PC

if you want to share something other than the user's Home directory, get SharePoints.

Second tip: Finder is notoriously brain-dead at finding network volumes, you have to try, try, try again, swear, try again, swear a bit more, try again, and eventually it will let you log in ... once you get your remote volume (by whatever means) on the Finder desktop, make an alias of it. When you want to mount the remote volume again, double-click the alias.
