If this is in the wrong forum im sure someone will move it, so sorry if it is.

Anyhow, a quick question, when it comes to connecting a Composite device such as a dvd player with the Red/White/Yellow cables to an LCD with analouge VGA input, i assume it requires a Composite to VGA converter. I have searched on the internet and the best i have found are small boxes worth almost $100 and no way am i going to pay that much. Has anyone come across a cheap converter or know of a way to get around it.

There is no easy way around it I'm afraid salve - they're completely different and need the converter box to well ... convert this sort of signal to standard VGA.

I've seen some cheap DVD players with VGA output though, have a look around?

If the LCD monitor does not have a composite input, then the converter is the only way. They are different colour spaces and need to be converted by some simple electronics.

EDIT: beaten to it. And yes, Byrd has a good suggestion about looking for an el' cheapo DVD player with RGB/VGA output, if you really really need to connect a dvd player to it. Or just use your Mac
