Epson Stylus 3000 + Getting it to work with OS X

Hey,

I just got an Epson Stylus Colour Printer, about 5 years old, but barely used. Its a large format A2 Inkjet printer.

I'm trying to configure it with OS X via Ethernet, it is connected via a 10/100 switch. I have installed the drivers, and downloaded Epson NetAssist.

Has anyone had any experience with this printer in OS X or a similar situation, any assistance would be great.

Thanks

William

Hi William,
We've had one of these for years. The way we use it at the moment is set up through a machine running OS9 and a software RIP. It's been the most effective way to run it - you may find a RIP for OS X that works with it as well, I'm not entirely sure what other options are available. I think there are some third party drivers or something available for OS X as well.

Cheers

I tried power rip and it didn't work. And I have tried a few other things, and can still not get it to work.

Does anyone know how I can find out what the I.P address is on the printer, I don't know what it is, which could be the cause of my problems

Yeah, I installed that, but I don't know what the I.P address of the printer is, so I can't actually use it.

usually there is a combo of buttons on the machine you can press to get it to print out a configuration page. I dont know what they are but this may give you a clue as to where to start searching.

I haven't been able to find any button combo that prints out an info sheet, unfortunately.

I found out how to get all the details of the printer (there's a button the back) and I can put the gateway address into camino then it comes up asking for a username and password, I can't find out what it is, does anyone know how could reset the password?

Also I have been able to Ping the printer.
