Hi All, anyone know of a card which will work in Mac OS X like this one

Security Spy is very good and you can run multiple iSights connected to a Mac without any additional hardware.

I contacted the manufacturer of the top card for a quote about 12 months ago and it was rather expensive for a 4 port model. I can't remember the exact amount, but 700 sticks in my mind. I can't remember whether that was pounds or dollars (I think they're from the UK), but either way beyond my budget.

But agreed, the software is very good. If you fancy playing with Linux, check out http://www.zoneminder.com as an alternative. It has even more features than SecuritySpy, it's open source and it works with even the cheapest capture cards out there.

Thanks for the replies, i saw security spy but i have cameras set up and the card they recommend i very expensive. I guess there is no cheap capture card for the mac, guess i might have to put it into my linux server as iam trying to cut down on machines in my house.

IS it a driver issue or hardware stopping me from getting the swann card to work in the mac?

The only one i have been able to source and use is an Alchemy TV PCI card (analogue) It is not cheap, it works OK but there is better. Its cheaper to buy a $300 PC and get a decent PC PCI applicationThe swann card and application is crap compared with others out there.
A guy at swann in Richmond(murry) reckons he has mac drivers, but he failed to deliver when i asked for them. Save your money.
