EyeHome
I have been using EyeHome for a few years to stream all my TV recordings (recorded with EyeTV of course)
Great product for streaming Tv and to be honest I think it was a bit ahead of it's time and Elgato seemed to stop developing it and I could not work out why.
Now that Apple TV is out I understand why ... you may remember that a year or so ago the CEO of Elgato went and joined the board of Apple , they would have known Apple TV was on it's way.
EyeHome is now a discontinued product and although it still does a great job I would not recommend using it if you main task is recording TV.
I have been using an Apple TV for the last week and except for a few minor things that could be tidied up IT's A GREAT device.
EyeTV 2.4 using one of the Cinergy dual USB tuners records all my TV , now 2 programs at the same time if need be :-)
I set it to auto export to Apple TV and all my programs are ready to watch ... great sound great quaility in the lounge room all with a simple Apple remote and no fuss.
Movie and TV programs purchased from itunes are a bonus if you have a US account :-)
The one shortfall is that it takes a long time to export each TV show to Apple TV as it converts it to H264. But I got an email from Elgato this morning (and on serching further) there is now an Elgato product "Elgato's Turbo 264 USB stick painlessly coverts vidz to H.264" that converts all your TV recordings to H264 IN REAL TIME straight to Apple TV.
Can't wait to buy one.
Anyway hope this helps ... if your more after streaming other content like DVD's , movies etc you could still convert to H264 and play in Apple TV.
By the way I am not a big music person but browsing and listing to your music via Apple TV to your Home Theatre tuner via optical out is a great way to access your music.
