Optus (Uses ‘yesinternet’ APN for data+tethering instead of ‘connect’)
Telstra (data+tethering uses telstra.iph APN) Three (Also includes custom ‘3′ carrier logo) Vodafone Virgin Mobile All include tethering support and the Multiple MMS fix, as well as the proper MMS UAProf settings, supporting images up to 1024x1024 if supported by your carrier. To apply the carrier bundle to your iPhone, plug it into your computer, and go to the summary tab of your iPhone in iTunes. Option-Click ‘Check for Update’ (Shift-Click if you’re on Windows) and browse to the Telstra_au.ipcc file you downloaded above. After that’s done, reboot your iPhone to ensure the settings have taken effect. If you’d like to check to make sure that they have been applied, on your iPhone browse to Settings > General > About, and check the carrier. It should have a version of 4.5. ![]() Quote:
All are 3.0 compliant (eg, they're based on the official bundles released from 3.0, not the earlier bundles for the 3.0 betas with redundant settings (enable tether/etc)) Enabling custom carrier file uploading in iTunes 8.2: For OS X users, paste or type the following into Terminal, and then restart iTunes: Code:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE 32bit – Code:
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

I've copied and pasted into iTunes from the Terminal as stated, then downloaded the Three .ipcc file, but when I try to run that file, there is no application to run it. Tried it in both Firefox and Safari, still no go.
Any ideas? Cheers! Dean

If you have done the terminal command, plug the phone into iTunes, option click on 'Check for Update' select the .ipcc file and it will update.

The .ipcc files are actually just ZIP files, containing a 'Payload' folder and a carrier.bundle file inside. Make sure that you have an ipcc file, NOT a payload folder and 'three_au.bundle' inside. Safari has a habit of opening and unzipping files if they're deemed safe, so try downloading it with Firefox or similar, or turn off the opening of safe files in Safari preferences. iTunes will only accept .ipcc files. It's actually a separate app on your Mac - go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app, paste the line in there, and then you can quit Terminal.
