Hi,
Maybe I am crazy but I can't see how I can take the phone number a SMS arrives on and add it to my contacts. Typically a friend will send an SMS just saying 'this is my number' ie the number from caller ID not the number in the message, they don't actually type in their number. So how do I tell the iphone to add the phone number of the SMS to a new or existing contact without having to type it back in. I can't even seem to copy/paste the area the number is displayed at the top. Cheers Guy |

If the phone number in the SMS is the one you want as a contact rather than the number of the person who sent the SMS, then a long winded way is...
Assuming your running iPhone OS 3.x+ Click and hold on the SMS message and select 'Copy'. Open the 'Notes' app and paste the text into a new note. Select only the number you want out of the remainder of the SMS text, then select 'Copy' again. Create a new contact and paste the number in. Long winded I know but it does work.
