I'm trying to get tethering working, but for some reason I can't even get my MBP and iPhone to connect. They are visible to each other and apparently paired. But thats where the fun ends.

Anyone else having this trouble or have any ideas?

It took me a while to work out what to do. Is tethering included in your plan? Enable it via Settings>general>Network>Tethering. If that is not there then you need to follow instructions from your telco or use one of the sites out there to enable. I know you have to enable it through the web with Optus.

Thanks Woody, I'm with Vodafone, so it is included.

I have tethering enabled, but at the moment I can't even get the two to connect over bluetooth.

a) enable BT on iphone
b) enable tethering on iphone
c) pair mac and iphone together (find the iphone with your mac)
d) from BT icon in menu bar, scroll down and find your phone's name. select it and 'connect' to it.

your done.

Yeah still can't get them to pair.

Think I might make a trip into the genius bar next week. I've tethered phones before and never had any problems. I think the bluetooth on one of the devices might be playing up.
