Default How do you like your iPhone 3G S ?

Couldn't see a thread on this, so thought I'd start one ;-)

I am loving it (upgrading from a 3G). For me its the little things.
  • The speed is great; web browsing is much less annoying and apps loading faster really adds to my enjoyment of the device. (e.g. ipod app opens almost instantaneously now). Syncing is also much faster; My 3G was much slower to sync than my nano, now its on par.
  • The oleophobic coating .... its magic ;-)
  • I can use my apple in-ear headphones with mic & remote to adjust the sound (always bugged me when travelling on train that its a pain to adjust the volume up & down for quiet/noisy parts of the trip, as I put my iphone in my pocket).

Well, the big things are good too, but I already knew I would like those ;-)

Your thoughts ?

its a lot snappier than what I thought it would be..even after reading a few reviews. the speed is def the biggest difference Ive noticed.

ill be making a lot of use from the video function as well.

played around with voice control....its pretty accurate without even sampling your own voice.

with apple stores selling outright and unlocked for $1040...im very happy with todays purchase

You can do this by hitting the physical volume buttons on the phone.

... I think he is aware of that.

it's nice to have use of the headphone based volume control though obviously.
I find trying to grab the volume control while my phones in my pocket pretty annoying

Yes, but when I am on the train, I usually have my iPhone in my Trouser pocket; more convenient to do it with the headphones. (I did say it was a little thing ;-) ... I expect people will find some little thing they like that may not be of interest to everyone else ...

Funnily enough, i really like the % meter on the battery.... as you say it's sometimes the little things.

Video editing is just fracking amazing on a device this size though...

I've noticed typing seems much better, the 3G wasn't slow per se, but the extra speed makes typing faster much easier on the 3GS, as it's less likely to hang.

Got mine today! It arrived with the courier at 0930hr at Ocean Shores PS. I was very happy. This phone is a replacement for my last iphone that did not work!

I have noticed that my contacts seem to be repeated and repeated - not sure what I am doing wrong.

I have hooked up tethering (no thanks to Optasrse) have checked my usage - nothing yet!

It appears to be snappy and the camera goes well. At this point-I am very very happy!

Thank you Apple!

Overall I love mine, and my new network Vodafone. The only negative so far is that my compass/google maps orientation wouldn't work in the car. The GPS blue dot was updating fine, but it was pointing the opposite way to the way my car was going, and just bouncing around. It also wanted me to make figure 8's with the phone...what the? Anyone else had problems with this?

The speed is amazing (sadly 3G web browsing still sucks) the battery percentage indicator is great and compass is awesome. The oleophobic screen is one of the best features.

Meh is happy.

Loving my 3GS, loving the voice controls and yes the extra speed does help !
As for the screen, straight out of the box ive put an anti-glare screen protector on the screen to keep it protected...

How do I turn this on?

I've just got mine setup properly. Compass is pretty lame. Speed is great. Haven't had enough of a play with it yet though.
