Default Lost some pics

I updated to 2.1 firmware on my 1st Gen iPhone yesterday.

I had loaded iTunes and thought it had backed it up before the restore happened.

I restored the phone and it wasn't until later realised it hadn't made the earlier back up.

Anyway getting to the point I have lost some pics and wondered if there is anyway of retrieving them or have they been lost forever.

Hope someone can help.

Graham

Unless you want to pay for expensive data recovery, which i don't even know if it is possible to with flash, chances are they have been overwritten. Sadly, those photos are down the gurgler.

I did something similar Graham but I didn't care I'd lost the photos, they were rubbish but it taught me a lesson. I'd say you won't be getting them back. Hope they weren't too important.

I now copy them from the camera into iphoto or lightroom just in case the phone crashes and needs the firmware reloaded.

The thing is before every other restore it has done a BACKUP.

The problem is that this time it didn't.

Back ups only back up your data like usage meter, text messages, emails, recent phone calls etc. It doesn't back up your media.

Or you should have just taken the photos off your phone and kept them on your computer.
