Does anyone have any news on sydney? Because.. I"M GETTING ONE NEXT WEEK!!! ARGH! I'm so excited. Yeah, its sad, I know. But for the last couple of days all I've read is "I just got my iPhone" or "I'm going to pick on up now". I just confirmed it with optus. I'm going 8GB on a $19 cap plan and I couldn't be happier!

Hey guys. my mate walked into the bondi junction apple store in sydney yesterday and signed up on a 16gb black postpaid and took it home that day. They apparently are getting another shipment today or next week so try them. That is with optus.

Hi guys!
Let me just put down some details of my purchase -

For all you Melbournians, today I went into Telstra T-Life on the corner of Swanston and Burke. It was indeed busy, but after 15 minutes of wait...I bought my Black 16GB IPhone 3G outright.

Initially, they asked that only a telstra customer (and even more initially..asked if i was a telstra mobile customer...but that didn't hold), and EVEN THOUGH they don't check, saying yes usually leads to a thumbs up anyway.

847 dollars gets u that phone. Walk out of the store AND IGNORE RANDOM STUFF THAT THEY MAY ADVISE U WITH.

I was hit with "This phone does not even work with Telstra Prepaid...The prepaid version is coming out in 3-4 weeks IN 12GB FORMAT"
Now unless i AM mistaken, by this time i was (and still is) a bit astounded at the lack of information they have.

UNLOCKING (accordin to them) works if you call 1800 IPHONE Monday-Friday 9-5.

The only thing I ask now of all you people reading this...is to clarify with me IF YOU HAVE ABSOLUTE INFORMATION, whether this phone of mine, would work anywhere in the world with a normal GSM card (not 3G) after unlocking.

Thanks!

You sure it's an 12GB model?

Many users on the forum bought it outright and are using it as a prepaid mobile, couldn't see the possible problem at the moment.

Haha!
Regarding whether i'm sure, YES those were the words out of the words of the salesgirl I spoke to. Then again, a week ago at Telechoice i was told that a static...pen...was coming out for the Iphone 3g?

haha, but thanks, I will go and purchase a 25 dollar telstra 2G card pack tomorrow!

Anyone with more information?

Essendon (Keilor Rd) store just informed me that stock is being filtered out at the moment and they should be in within the next 2 days.

*They only have about 30 rainchecked phones, so I don't know if they will have extra stock to sell or not, I'll post again when they come in and if you live in the area might wanna try your luck

Hey all! First time poster (I think?); mac user since 2002 when my best mate finally converted me.

Now I've switched somewhere between 20 and 30 mates...

Anyhoo, I rainchecked a black 16GB iPhone on the 13th of July (Sun) at Optusworld Highpoint in Victoria.

I was told last week I was 8th, then yesterday told I was 17th and not all orders from fri/sat had been fulfilled (despite being told this had been done in the first call).

Anyone else have any Highpoint Optusworld news?

Ta

I bought 3 iPhones through Optus small business sales over the phone on Monday July 14th. Was told originally that I would have them before the 1st Aug. Then last week was told the 8th. I haven't heard anything since.

Anyway, a friend is telling me that the global stock level thing on the Apple US site is saying how low stock is in the States... sounds like we might have a bit more of a wait coming...

All three arrived yesterday - I ordered three black but got one white and two black (thanks Optus). Only had two mins to use it so far but it's rad.

I ordered on the 17th of july. Was told min 3 weeks, It was 3 weeks yesterday so I rang up. Turns out I was never on the list and the lady that served me had quit so they don't know where any of the paper work she did is now, but I'm now top of the list.
