Smile 2009: Our first year as Bjango + thanks MacTalk!

2009 has been a great year for us. We’ve been able to evolve a reasonably successful donationware company (iSlayer) into a small, independent iPhone and Mac company that supports four staff members.

We’ve pumped out 30 releases (an average of one every 12 days), a few articles and countless Recipes. Doing so has meant we’ve worked some stupidly long hours, but we’ve enjoyed every second of it.

What’s in store for 2010? A lot. We have some big plans for our current range of apps, plus a few ideas for new apps. We’ve also enlisted a couple of talented friends so we can build games that would have been beyond our reach previously (can't wait to show you all what we've been up to!).

Thank you everyone. It’s been a very busy, but highly enjoyable year. We wish you all the best for the festive season and the new year.

Signed,
The Bjango lucky monkeys.

Full list of updates we've released can be found here: 2009: Our first year as Bjango

I've proudly supported Bjango with app purchases. Happy to help MacTalkers and Australians in their endeavours.

I can't get over how you guys responded to not one but two of my issues with Consume and fixed them within a day or two. If I have any use whatsoever for your apps, I'll download them.

I'm looking forward to your Point Blank inspired shooter...I foresee it becoming one of those "show when people ask you what the iPhone can do" apps.

A day or two? We mustn't have liked you. Most are fixed quicker than that! (Quite possible we were in the middle of some other work when your email landed.)

Thanks for your kind words. Not sure we're worthy of it being one of the first apps you show friends, but I guess we'll see. Games are a new thing for us, so we really don't know what to expect. It's going to be interesting.

Well done to Bjango, Australias best appstore company. Your work is consistently placed in international blogs best designed lists, providing a benchmark globaly but also a point of pride for our local developers.

Keep raising the bar so that others may seek to meet it; thus Bjangos contribution to the app store ultimately enriches the experience for everyone.

Keep up the great work.

Love your work Marc but can I throw in a criticism?

The articles section on your website is more a blog and isn't really linked to on the front page of your site. Where you have included links at the bottom (not to a main page, though, but individual articles) you throw in an and help comment. Help and tech support should be very separate from your articles so lumping them under the one heading is just wrong.

If you should get a spare second can you guys please include a 'blog' link on your main navigation and also offer an archive. You're ever increasing presence and credibility in the app development world deserves a dedicated, and easy to find, voice...

Thanks for the feedback El Guardo. Definitely planning some website upgrades at some point soon. I think you're right that the articles need to be easier to find.

Donnie Darko: Thanks. Appreciate it.

Any chance an iStat Menu's update is in the pipeline with networking fixes for the new iMacs?

I know its not a paid application, but it really is an invaluable program and I'm looking forward to having network monitoring back.

It's definitely in the pipeline (we bought an new iMac we didn't need, just to be able to test this issue!). Not sure when, but it will happen.

Your welcome!

You guys are definitely one of the companies I look up to, as I work my way down the path of getting my company up and going - two apps close to release!
