Thanks all!

It's been such a good release. Lots of good comments, press and downloads so far.

I'm not seeing that here. Hmm. Can you please post a screenshot of your settings plus the result?

Note the blue temperature display text and the green skin elsewhere.

Looks kinda cute, but definitely funky

I don't mean to seem rude, but what exactly is the point of iStat? I used to monitor things like temperature and clockspeed on my Windows PC, but that's because I was tweaking and overclocking it. On my MacBook, I have no need or desire to monitor system stats in realtime.

Why do you guys use iStat?

I mainly use it to monitor my uploads/downloads, just because I like to know what's happening when my connection seems slow. It's instant feedback.

I like the date display feature. For example, today I see a '4', and then when I click on the '4' in the menu bar I get a nice little drop down calendar. At work I often need to check a few weeks ahead and its handy to not have to use ical every time.

Also, the network monitor, displays all my IP information. So I can quickly get my IP address without having to dig through network preferences.

Looks like you've just set a colour for the menubar temp text. You'll just have to change it back to black to reset it (the skin colour doesn't affect this).

I use the Date & Time extra because it has a world clock and calendar. Very handy for Bjango so we can time releases and know when to post to Twitter (we try to make sure the US is awake for very important announcements).

I also use the Disk Usage extra to be able to see how much hard drive space I have left on the various HDs connected to my Mac.

I don't use too many of the other extras, simply because I like keeping my menubar clean. For network, uptime, IP and other things, I use iStat Pro.

I was using the iStat Pro widget but I'm trying to switch this instead. Is there no way to show battery (bluetooth mouse) & uptime in the menu version?

I used iStat Menus quite a bit and have purchased almost all the iPhone apps (except for Beats) as a thank-you. Do you have plans for creating any more apps? Thanks again for all the work you put into Menus.

It's funny how you don't realise how much you use something until you don't have it anymore!

So glad to have the network monitoring back. Cheers to the Bjango team.

I use it to monitor my CPU & RAM usage (so I can keep an eye on rampant apps) and for network utilisation, so I can tell if the web browser is actually working or just spinning its wheels.

Sure do. We're starting with this: Bjango usage app: Optus, Virgin, Vodafone, iiNet + more

And have updates for most of our other apps. And also have loads of ideas we're working on. Plenty more!

Nice, thanks. It took me a little bit of searching to find that, but I got it.

ild like to ask, Do you, as developers, have access to information regarding the GPU?
itll be awesome if theres a way to display the percentage ( like memory and cpu ) on how busy it is.

also, just a suggestion, if you can create a skin where it looks like the snow leopard colour, shade, transulency of when you right click a app along the dock, itll blend it nicely as well i think, make it appear native.

I believe the info is a little harder to obtain and methods vary between manufacturers. I wouldn't say it's never coming to iStat Menus, but it's not going to be easy to add.

I really like having the ability to eject disks. It's something I wanted a long time ago but was told "no".

Work using Final Cut Studio, etcetera - the monitoring is invaluable. Makes troubleshooting very fast and painless if things are running slow. Now that I've been using it, I couldn't live without it!
