This threads been done before, but i'm curious as to why people keep mentioning the following.
- Blu-Ray : Media is still very expensive. Plus not aware of a suitable sized slot loading drive (there are apparently tray loading drives)
- HDMI : DVI + Optical Out does fine. And DisplayPort is going to be connection of choice in the coming generation of consumer desktop's and notebooks's
- 3G : Dongles are cheap and have the support of whatever provider they are issued by. Inbuilt seems rather pointless.

800Mhz memory / 512MB graphics card across all models, faster optical drives, better battery life.

Yeah, not a big deal not having Blue-Ray. They should make it a BTO though. Slug those dudes that want it.

Yeah, HDMI is just DVI + sound. There's only so many ports you can shove on the side, HDMI shouldn't be one of them.

Yeah, the MBP has an ExpressCard slot - shove your 3G modem in there.
What I want to see in the MBP is making it lighter, increasing battery life and making the HDD user replaceable. That's about it really. A redesign wouldn't go astray, but it still looks pretty awesome.

the keyboard would essentially be a touch screen then, which renders you with a completely flat surface.
you couldnt touch type, you would almost always be needing to be looking at the keys, as you wouldnt be able to feel what you are typing......?

Honestly, you can't beat the design of the Macbook Pro / Powerbook G4.
Like what exactly would you be wanting changed in the design?

I don't see how Apple wouldn't make it as an optional add on if we wanted to customise our macs on the site. But I do see them not doing it simply because of their itunes movie store. They wouldnt want to lose buisiness there.
