MBP video/sound going "slow-mo" in bootcamp

I didnt really have an idea where to post this, but as i thought it might be a nvidia card problem i thought id just post it here

in xp when playing a game, after playing it for long periods of times, or having the game open and then minimizing and reopening the game - the mbp will start having these periods where it goes "slow-mo". what i mean by this, for random brief periods the sound slows up and goes distorted, and the action on the screen seems to slow down to (for a few secs at each time).

strange thing is, if im hosting the game (talking about dota), when this issue starts happening , EVERYONE else starts to lag/spike when i get the sound distortion/slowing , so its almost as if my whole computer is slowing down for brief periods

also, once this issue occurs, even if i close the game and then go to youtube and watch a video, the same thing will happen. brief periods of sound/video slowing down

after reading the faulty overheating nvidia card problems i was wandering if this issue had something to do with this. it makes it hard to diagnose this problem and say whether or not its specific to windows because i dont have any games on mac and cant see whether putting the vid card under stress on mac osx might result in the same issue

but i hope someone here who has more of a clue might be able to suggest something
