MacBook Pro turning itself on after plugging in power adapter

First post so hi everyone!

Been searching everywhere for an answer to an issue i have:

MacBook Pro 15" 2.4GHz 2GB RAM
Leopard 10.5.1

Every time i plug a power adapter (plugged into power point on the other end of course) it boots up my MBP.

I have a schedule to shut down (not sleep) at 3am every day. I do not have a schedule for it to turn on. Its usually not left on til 3am anyway so it doesn't have a chance to shut itself down, I normally shut down manually.

I have noticed in System Overview, in the Power section that it says:

"Power on self-test - passed"
It's then dated the day i plugged in the adapter and it decided to turn itself on (which is every time)

Would anyone know the cause? And a fix would be really helpful too.

Cheers.

Reset your PRAM.

Macs generally store a property in PRAM to boot if power is detected to a new logic board. If your PRAM has become corrupted, it may not be able to write this value, and may think that every time you connect power, you are doing it for the first time.

Not sure that this is the case, but certainly worth a try.
