Macbook pro, low battery sleep?

My Macbook Pro, will just power off if it runs down to zero battery.

My old Powerbook G4 would simply "hibernate" when it reacher zero battery - saving everything that I had open/working on until I plugged in the power cord..

Is there an option to keep it running when it has zero battery?

thanks

Are you using a third-party battery?

That's the only reason I could find that would have a result like that.

Mine (a June 07 model) starting doing that a month or so ago. It would just shutdown without warning. Normally, I would get an alert telling me to plug it in or some such (can't remember the exact wording). This was only an hour or so after being "fully charged". It only had 31 cycles on it.

The Apple Store replaced it for me on the spot.

Cheers,

Steve C
