MacBook Air issues

I have just got my MacBook Air out to power it up (after having not used it for a couple of weeks), and it wouldn't turn on... so I got the power adapter, connected it and it powered up.

When I logged in, I was greeted with a message saying that the date and time had been reset. I connected to my wireless network, and it keeps self-assigning an IP (so I can't connect to my home network or the internet). The battery status said it was going to take 10 hours to recharge (it has now dropped to 3 hours).

I reset the SMC and the PRAM... but I still can't resolve the network issue. Is there something I've missed?

Nevermind... I waited until the battery had charged a little bit, restarted and now it's working again.

Yes if you don't use it for a while, the battery runs dead.

Crisis averted.

Well, yeah... I got that bit... lol

What I didn't know is that the network would crap itself.

I think the issue here is that you have a MacBook Air that you don't use nearly often enough. I though people who owned Airs carried them around everywhere.

I have only just this last week obtained a suitable sleeve and bag for the laptop... so the Air will now be accompanying me on my daily train trips to and from my work.

Speaking of issues...

Mine sometimes "beeps". It is the internal speaker and it makes a beep very very rarely. I'm not sure what causes it.

My gf's Air does not do this (as far as I know).

It's like the sound a PC makes, when booting up (the first quick 'beep').

What sleeve did you get [MREVO8]? I've been looking for one for my MBA also and can't find anything suitable...

Is it a snugg fit? I went and looked at the toffee sleeve (which looks awesome), but it was too loose inside....

I use this one: Belkin : Neoprene Sleeve for MacBook Air

Best sleeve for the MacBook Air. Fits very snugly.

Only time I've heard a machine do that is when the RAM fails. Check to see if all your RAM shows up in system profiler.
