2 of the small rubber "feet" are missing from my powerbook, does anyone know if you can get replacements for these or if they can be replaced with ones that are more "grippy"?

Thanks

The feet can be replaced - and they cost something like $25 for 8 feet iirc. THough - don't quote me on that i could be wrong. Best to call your local service center and ask.

I'd get generic ones from a hardware store if you want to save some money.

Jaycar sell packs of them, little black adhesive ones - total cost about $2. They're about 0.5mm tall so assist in heat dissipation as well

Thanks Guys,
I hadn't heard of Jaycar but I looked at their website and they have 2 stores in metro Adelaide, I'll check them out.

They're always good - sort of like an enhanced Dick Smith store. Just ask them for what you want and they'll point out where they are.

IIRC they sell large rubber feet (pack of 4, probably too big) and smaller ones (you get about ~ 12 in the pack). They have good adhesive and will stay on for a long time.

A set of 4 feet from Apple parts is about $15 from memory - can't check exactly at the moment as the parts system is down. You can order them from an Apple Service Centre.

the foot on the battery of my iBook fell off TWO DAYS after i got it.
you can't replace it. the ones that they sell are for the three other feet on the base.
i haven't explored other options for replacement, i've just learned to deal with it :P

hmm im guessing this is for an older powerbook, as my model seems to have very resilient feet which do not come off, and have a special recessed area unlike the older models of powerbook. I know the Titanium Powerbooks frequently lose their footsies.

All snow iBooks have little white feet that clip in, and often fall out when you don't know. The amount of times I've found a little white plug and scratched my head wondering what on earth it is for
