Macbook Ram

Well I will hopefully be buying a Macbook soon and was wondering if I was to upgrade the RAM to 4GB if it would be utilised well by the Macbook, and if it is really worth upgrading to 4GB instead of 2GB?

Cheers

definitely, more ram = good.
there's never any argument against more ram - especially with memory hungry operating systems and applications becoming more and more common.

I went for 2x2GB upgrade because it costs less (from skycomp) than 2x1GB upgrade from apple (my original plan).

Ok, cheers guys, looks like I'll be getting 4GB then.

I see alot of sponsors up in the banner of the forum promoting cheap RAM and was wondering who is the most reliable and cheapest, and also what brand most people go with or is the most suitable for the Macbook?

Hey jerrah did you have to pay any taxes or import duties when the shipped it to you. And how long did it take to get to you?

You don't have to pay import duties or GST on anything valued at less than A$1,000.
How quick you get it from OS depends on what level of mail you paid for .
- For 2 x Ram Chips
Postage & Handling:
US Postal Service Priority Mail US $5.50
US Postal Service First Class Mail US $3.00
USPS First Class Mail International US $5.00
USPS Priority Mail International US $11.00
USPS Priority Mail International US $9.00

USPS Priority Mail International US $11.00 is usually what I choose for smaller items and takes 3-6days. Bigger items like a video card or 2.5" HD costs about $30 for the same service.

Forgot to mention that I get insurance on anything worth over $50 which bumps up the price too, usually by about $5.

has anyone got any OWC branded ram? It's dropped to just over US$100 for 2x2gb (i'm sure it was $150 only a few weeks ago)

that's a pretty big drop. Is it likely that it's going to get any cheaper, or it wise to grab some now while it's still cheap?
