additional monitor + Parallels desktop

A quick question. if one has an additional monitor to there imac or macbook can they run a different operating system in full screen mode on a different screen but still have OS X runnig on the imac or macbook ?

if this is possible how does it run and does anyone use this. Im in the process of buying a lcd a extra lcd monitor and im wondering if i can run xp in full screen mode sometimes when i neeed it

yes it can be done, that's how I do my work at home (win on the dell, osx on the imac), might push it with the macbook, but I'd ask someone who has a macbook

1.83 ghz C2D - 2 GB ram. with maybe a 160gb hardrive it wont be to bad

I have a MacBook and run Parallels on an external monitor. It does run full screen although I usually leave it in a window at the full size of the screen.

are you refering to the graphics + ram distributed .. the macbook i own is realllly really good. but the only game i play , doesnt run well on it due to the graphics... all i want is to have windows xp for msn and microsoft office... then my other screen will have every thing else.

I just tried doing this with the latest beta (5120) and it crashed.... but it only happens if you try and enter fullscreen if Parallels was already running when you plugged in your external LCD. I don't know if this bug affects the latest stable release or not.

It works well.
I just drag the Parallels window to be the size of the monitor.

mmhmh i would prefer it to be fullscreen mode. rather than resizing the osx windows
