MBP speed maintainance..

hey guys..i just wanna ask..i have used my MBP for about 8-9 months now..and i realised the the speed of my MBP is significantly reduced comparing to when i first got it...time and time again i use ONYX to do maintainance on it so make sure that the speed doesnt decrease..but somehow its still is....so i was wondering whether are there any other ways or software to use to improve the speed of my MBP....thanks a bunch

Onyx doesn't do anything very useful for what you were using it for. If you've been using your computer for a lot of, say, graphic, video or audio work, or otherwise using a lot of large files, those files could be rather fragmented on the hard disk. Something like iDefrag (not free) will rectify that.

Large files are best put on another hard drive to prevent fragmentation.

Get yourself MainMenu for free and start using it. Restart recommended.

disk inventory x also freeware to check out if and where there's any large files clogging things up.

Maybe try xslimmer too.

All these little apps help keep it clean & healthy

It only seemed fast at the start because you came from a POS, you will NEVER get that original speed back, it could also be because of general wear and tear, but mainly its in your head
